Early in his career he was part of the management team at Schwarzschild Jewelers in Richmond, VA, and then spent over 20 years with Gordon Brothers Group as Director of Operations, leading a wide variety of liquidations and special event sales for some of the country's most prestigious stores. Now as a partner with The Gordon Company, Phil's extensive background and expertise allows him to deliver results through highly effective, individually tailored strategic plans designed to meet each client's needs and maximize their net returns. Phil attended N.C. State University, is a certified gemologist with American Gem Society, a graduate gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America and he is a board member of the Jewelers Board of Trade.

Ira Bergman works closely with both retail jewelers and vendors on critical issues relating to strategic planning and asset management. He brings a lifetime of experience to bear on helping clients solve problems concerning sales growth, ROI, inventory reduction and major transitions. Bergman began his career at the Mercury Ring Corporation, a manufacturer of diamond and bridal jewelry founded by his father in 1944. In the 1980s, he joined M. Fabrikant & Sons as an executive vice president, leaving the day-to-day management of Mercury Ring Corporation in the capable hands of his wife Phyllis. As executive vice president and later president of Fabrikant's jewelry division, Bergman managed sales programs that consistently exceeded sales and profitability targets, and oversaw all business development functions, including new product rollouts, key account management, customer relations and contract negotiations. The multi-year business plan he created during his tenure as president resulted in an increase of net sales by $150 million and increased profitability through improved customer relationship management programs. He is a member of the 24 Karat Club of New York, a former board member of the Plumb Club and Manufacturing Jewelers Association.
